If the great playwright William Shakespeare were alive today, what would be his relevant keywords? I had some musings the other day about how the advent of technology has drastically changed the writing landscape.
Long gone are the days of just writing for the sheer pleasure of creating something.
All you needed was a pen and a paper, or a typewriter, and some valuable time away from everything else.
But now, as Google has permeated every inch of the online world, truth be told, that we are somehow subject to its dictates and commands.
Google has spawned the phenomenon that is search engine optimization or SEO and it is a well-oiled machinery that involves keywords.
Keywords are words that makeup a sentence that if repeated often enough in one article, can truly increase the chances of your article being found by the search engines like Google.
In the SEO world, everybody wants to be found.
Which brings me back to my question: If the great playwright William Shakespeare were alive today, what would be his relevant keywords for SEO? Let's take a look at some of his famous quotes from Romeo and Juliet: For stony limits cannot hold love out, And what love can do that dares love attempt.
Love goes toward love, as schoolboys from their books, But love from love, toward school with heavy looks.
Love.
Shakespeare's keyword is LOVE! But, try this: Type "love" in your search engine of choice, and what do you get? A lot of love! So much love, in fact, that it cannot be contained! So, what happens to Shakespeare's keywords? Just like most of his characters - "loves" lost.
Unfortunately for Shakespeare, the Internet is just saturated with a lot of "love" keywords.
Shakespeare's love would be in great competition! There's more to love, really.
Which is why in my succeeding blogposts, I will be outlining in a 4-part series how we can find the best keywords.
After all, finding just the right keyword for all our intents and purposes spells the big difference between just love and well, a business lead that further leads to a sale.
